The Mount Anthony Karate Center, Sikaran School of Vermont is the only Sikaran Karate Institute in the state of Vermont. Sensei Joe Bump has studied Sikaran Karate for over 30 years and is ready to share his experiences with those students who wish to learn.
Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:30pm-8:30pm. Location is the NorthPownal Fire Station, Route 346, North Pownal, Vermont. Information can be found at makc57@comcast.net The best source of information is to come and watch a class. Classes are open to all ages at a cost of just $5.00 per class. Come dressed in loose fitting clothing, leave any attitudes at the door and be prepared to have fun. |

Class begins with personal stretching with a partner. Class falls in and pays respect to their school, grandmaster, master and their instructors. Exercise is fast and vigoruos. Let the sweat begin. Following the exercises, there is more stretching and preparing the mind and body for the class ahead. Then comes kicks, drills and forms. Sometimes there is fighting or self-defense techniques. Class ends as it began, paying respect to each other and to those who have come before them. Most importantly, every class is hard, but fun. We come to class as brothers and sisters and we leave the same way. We learn discipline and respect for each other and those who share our environment. |

1. Sikaran is our way of life.
2. We shall always practice humility.
3. We shall always practice gentleness in our relationships with others.
4. We shall always practice and display proper respect for the other martial arts.
5. We shall alsways practice good sportsmanship in competition.
6. We shall always practice patience, never to use our knowledge to abuse others, except in self-defense of ourselves, our loved ones, and the weak.
7. We shall always keep the fighting spirit of Sikaran.
